Teen Vogue Style Tips // 18 Mar 2009
Teen Vogue has posted style tips on which High School Musical character you like most.

"To get Troy's laidback cool, choose slim cut jeans, fitted tees, and old-school sneakers, and stick to a patriotic color palette of red, white and blue."

"To channel Gabriella's romantic ensembles, pair a flirty floral dress with a cozy cardigan, and don't forget to pile on the jewelry - mixing it up with turquoise stones and big wooden beads is one of this sweet character's signatures."

"To achieve Sharpay's over-the-top look, base your outfit in one eye-popping hue like fuchsia or cobalt blue and don't be afraid to go overboard with the accessories-to be a larger-than-life character like Sharpay, your clothes must reflect your confidence."

"To look as put-together as this know-it-all pair a shrunken blazer with a button down shirt and cute pleated skirt, and load on the girly acsesories. Little bows, headbands and pretty pearls are what keep Taylor's look feminine and fun rather than bookish and boring."

We Can't Resist Seeing Photos Like These... // 16 Mar 2009
Zac Efron rolled around in a giant sandbox for the April 2009 cover spread for Interview magazine.
The 21-year-old Hairspray heartthrob talked with Milk director Gus Van Sant for the feature. The duo talked about his upcoming movies, Me and Orson Welles and 17 Again, and furniture shopping. Check it:

On period piece, Me and Orson Welles: “Rick [Richard Linklater] was brilliant, because he found this great theater on the Isle of Man, which, after a little bit of work, looked a whole lot like the Mercury Theatre did in 1937. We took a beautiful theater and made it look rusty and old and dusty, and, once we filled it with extras dressed in 1930s attire, the place was very believable. It even smelled like an old theater. It was pretty neat because we were basically stuck there--you know, we couldn’t leave. There was nowhere to go on the Isle of Man. So we lived in that theater for several weeks. It was fun and exciting, but it was also kind of maddening. I went a little bit insane. There was always a small group of onlookers out in front of the theater while we were filming. It was pretty funny.”

On playing a 30-year-old guy in 17 Again: “Well, I couldn’t really relate to the character in a lot of ways, so I didn’t have that to work from. I worked a lot with Burr [Steers], the director, and Matthew [Perry], and just tried to think in terms of an older guy. He’s experienced life. He’s been through a lot that I haven’t been through yet. So it was a big change from High School Musical. You know, I’ve fallen in love, and I’ve not known what I want to do with my own future--I still don’t know. But I’ve never had a daughter who I’m looking out for. I’ve never been proud of my son. I’ve never gotten a divorce. It was interesting trying to figure that out. It was definitely a change of pace. And it was great working with Burr, because he’s got this huge imagination, and this sense of people--not what they seem to be, or what they’re defined to be, or what they want to appear to be, but as they actually are.”

On furniture shopping for his new house: “I’m looking at some furniture, because I just got a new place, so I’m figuring out if I want this desk. I’m sitting at it right now. It’s a vintage Herman Miller desk from, like, 1940-something. I don’t know . . . I’m just deciding if I’m going to want it in my house, or if I’m just going to completely wreck it. [laughs] Herman Miller’s stuff is really, really modern, but they have some pretty brilliant designs. [Ed note: Herman Miller is credited with inventing the office cubicle.] I’m sitting at this desk, and it’s the most well-built thing I’ve ever sat at . . . It’s a beautiful piece. It’s got this amazing wood grain that I’ve never seen in any piece of furniture. It’s also a little pricey. It’s at my house. I’m sitting at it right now. I just bought this place. It’s not big or anything, but it’s a pretty unique space. It’s very modern, very clean, very simple. It’s got concrete floors so I can’t screw it up. I can skateboard inside the house… You know, all the essentials are there.”

Be sure to pick up the new issue of Interview magazine - on stands next Tuesday.

Zac Efron Performs Miracles // 15 Mar 2009
Zac Efron jokes with Aussie Rove host Rove McManus as they figure out he can perform miracles.
The 21-year-old actor talked about his movie, 17 Again, Australian lingo and his performance at the Oscars. Check it:

On his older fans: “There are a lot of young fans -- they’re beautiful and they’re amazing -- but it’s the moms that get absolutely crazy. There was one, I was at this signing and there were stairs you had to walk up and everyone was coming one at a time. There was this mom that was in a wheelchair and her daughter came up and got an autograph. And the mom was like, ‘I want one too,’ so she stands right up from the wheelchair and walks right up on stage. I was like, ‘Of course, you can have whatever you want.’ I signed like ten things for her and she walked back down, sat back in her wheelchair and rolled away.”

On the Australian lingo: “I’m still rusty. I was giving an interview the other day and the lady was so nice, she was a sweetheart. We were laughing a lot and I said at the end of the interview, ‘I’m really rooting for you.” She went silent. ‘Hello, you still there?’ She started giggling pretty hard. I realized that that was a bad mistake. A couple days later [someone explained what 'root' meant to me].”

On performing with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars: “It was, but there’s a a safety net. No one’s gonna start hackling you because Wolverine can literally just (makes gesture of strangling). It was fantastic, It was an honor to be up there with those guys. 100% [I get nervous]. I think the Oscars was the most nervous I’ve ever been in my entire life.”

You guys should check the video. It is very hilarious!!!

Interview in Australia // 13 Mar 2009
Zac Efron sits down with The Today Show’s Richard Wilkins in Australia to talk all things 17 Again.

The 21-year-old performer is in the land down under to promote the film and dished to the news anchor on the Oscars, his next project and his socks. Check it:

On packing to travel: “My mistake is that I leave things home too much. I leave all the important things at home. I showed up here in Australia and I forgot socks.”

On working with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars: “I actually asked if there was any opportunity to present at the awards and they said, ‘No, no you can’t present at the awards. But you can perform.’ I was like, ‘Me, perform? Who else is doing it?’ They said Hugh Jackman. Done. I was in.”

On getting through the performance: “I’ve never been so nervous in my entire life. The trick is you can’t look down. There are so many incredible actors and actresses just all around you and if you look down for a second, you might actually look at Angelina Jolie. My hat fell off at the end because I was making eye contact.”

On what’s in store for the future: “I don’t know actually. This is an important step for me, so I’m making it a point to take my time and choose wisely.”
